There is a lot going on in the world of Triton Athletics and a lot to be proud of. It seems impossible that it is already October and the Fall sports seasons are winding down. In fact, girls golf and boys tennis have completed their seasons. Both squads were successful and I would like to congratulate them on some great performances.
Looking ahead, the boys and girls cross country teams are participating in their conference meets this week and will begin their post-season next week. These runners will compete at the Culver Academy Sectional next Tuesday, October 14. We wish them the best of luck at Sectional and beyond.
On the grid-iron the Triton football team is excited to defend their sectional crown this season. In fact, the Sectional draw for football was held last evening. The Trojans, who are currently 4-4, drew Whiting in the first round of Sectional play. The Triton Athletic Department is pleased to announce that we will be hosting round one of Sectional 33 action. This contest will be played on October 24 but game time is to be announced. Best of luck to the football team as they finish conference play with Knox and Jimtown.
Last but not least, we move indoors and take a closer look at the Big Blue Slam. The girls are finishing up NSC play next week and are anxiously awaiting their Sectional draw on October 13th. The Triton Athletic Department is pleased to announce that we will once again host this volleyball Sectional. The tournament will begin on Thursday, October 23 with the first match beginning at 6:30 and the second match immediately following. The semi-final and championship matches will be held on Saturday with the first semi-final match beginning at 12:00 and the second immediatley following. The championship game will begin at 6:00 PM.
As the leaves begin to change and the temperatures start creaping downward, the excitment of post season competition is in the air. Please continue to come out and support our Trojans and help the Triton community make this a Fall to remember.
